A Father and Son at Sebring

Bill and Patrick Gallagher — father and son — share the cockpit of the #96 BMW at Sebring. A family pairing competing together in a professional endurance race is genuinely rare and wonderful. The 12 Hours of Sebring is one of few events long enough to give both drivers meaningful time behind the wheel at the same event, at the same team, in the same race.

About Turner Motorsport

Turner Motorsport is one of IMSA's most recognizable and respected BMW customer teams — a true institution in American GT racing. The team has raced BMWs in IMSA for over 20 years, developing exceptional expertise with BMW Motorsport's products and building a partnership with BMW of North America that goes beyond simple customer team status.

Turner's longevity in the sport reflects the rare combination of financial commitment, technical discipline, and genuine passion required to run a professional racing team for two decades. They have seen BMW GT3 cars evolve from the M3 to the M6 to the current M4 GT3 EVO, accumulating institutional knowledge at each step.

The Car: BMW M4 GT3 EVO

The BMW M4 GT3 EVO is BMW Motorsport's customer racing flagship — a GT3 car derived from the M4 road car, powered by BMW's twin-turbocharged straight-six engine (the S58, also found in the M3 Competition). The EVO designation marks an evolved version with aerodynamic and mechanical updates that improve both performance and reliability.

BMW's motorsport heritage at Sebring stretches back decades. The legendary BMW CSL raced here in the 1970s; BMW GTE cars competed in recent years at the top GT level. The M4 GT3 EVO is the latest chapter of that history in the customer GT3 class.

The Gentleman Driver Experience

The GTD class celebrates something unique: passionate racing enthusiasts competing alongside career professionals at a world-class circuit. The Gallagher family brings exactly this spirit to the #96. A 12-hour endurance race is not a casual Sunday drive — preparation, fitness, mental focus, and serious driving skill are required. But it is achievable by committed enthusiasts with the right team and professional co-drivers around them. Robby Foley provides the professional anchor while enabling the Gallaghers' shared racing dream.

Why Endurance Racing Enables Family Pairings

Sprint races of 30-60 minutes typically feature only one or two drivers. At Sebring's 12-hour distance, three drivers share the car — each typically doing three to four stints of one to two hours. This format means a father and son can both drive significant portions of the same race without compromising pace, making events like Sebring uniquely suited to family driver pairings.

The Drivers

Bill Gallagher (USA) is an American gentleman driver and the patriarch of the Gallagher racing family. His commitment to BMW GT racing with Turner Motorsport has been a long-term passion project, and sharing the cockpit with his son Patrick at Sebring is the culmination of a family love of motorsport. Competing at a professional level requires real dedication — Bill brings both enthusiasm and the investment that makes the program possible.

Patrick Gallagher (USA) is Bill's son and the second generation of Gallagher BMW racers. Racing alongside your father in a 12-hour professional endurance race is an extraordinary experience — one that few people anywhere in the world ever get to have. Patrick brings youth and developing race craft to complement his father and professional co-driver.

Robby Foley (USA) is an American professional BMW driver who serves as the team's professional anchor. His deep familiarity with Turner Motorsport, the BMW M4 GT3 EVO platform, and IMSA racing ensures the #96 is always in the race and competitive. Foley's experience allows the Gallaghers to focus on their driving while trusting the car is properly prepared and strategically managed.
