For 2026, Wright has assembled a remarkable driver lineup: two recent Formula 1 graduates alongside a gentleman driver team backer. The combination of F1-caliber driver ability with GT endurance racing experience is a fascinating experiment — and one that creates enormous expectations for the #120.

The Car: Porsche 911 GT3 R (992)

The Porsche 911 GT3 R based on the current-generation 992-series 911 is one of GT3 racing's most proven and competitive platforms. Porsche's approach to GT3 racing is different from most competitors: rather than licensing their car to others, Porsche Motorsport sells the 911 GT3 R directly to customer teams worldwide, providing factory technical support and an integrated ecosystem of Porsche expertise.

The car's rear-engine layout — with the flat-six engine mounted behind the rear axle — is unique in GT3 racing and requires specific driving techniques. The 992 GT3 R features updated aerodynamics over previous generations, improved cooling, and suspension refinements that make it more competitive over long stints.

F1 Skills vs. GT Endurance Demands

Formula 1 drivers are unquestionably the fastest car racers in the world. But GT3 endurance racing demands a different skill set: managing tire wear over multiple stints, saving brakes across long fuel runs, driving smoothly to preserve reliability, and pacing oneself across 12 hours rather than charging for 30 laps. F1 graduates in GT racing must recalibrate their instincts — not race flat-out every lap, but manage resources strategically across the race's full duration.

The transition is not always immediate, but both Sargent and Ilott have enough professional experience to adapt quickly. Their raw speed and car control, honed at the very highest level, gives them a fundamental advantage over most GT3 competitors.

The Drivers

Jason Adelson (USA) is the American gentleman driver and team backer who makes the #120 program possible. In GTD, at least one driver must be a non-professional (FIA Silver rated or lower), and Adelson fulfills that role — a passionate racing enthusiast who gets to share a cockpit with two ex-F1 drivers at one of America's greatest races.

Logan Sargent (USA) is America's most recent Formula 1 driver, having raced for Williams F1 in the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Growing up in Florida, Sargent is one of the few Americans to reach F1 in recent history, and his transition to sportscar racing brings elite open-wheel skills to the GT3 environment. His familiarity with Florida — Sebring is in Florida — may give him a slight atmospheric advantage.

Callum Ilott (Great Britain) was Ferrari's official F1 reserve driver and finished second in the 2020 Formula 2 championship — the direct feeder series to F1. He subsequently raced in the IndyCar Series, developing American racing experience. His path from Ferrari F1 reserve to IndyCar to GT3 endurance racing reflects the diverse career pathways available to elite drivers who didn't land a permanent F1 seat.
